What Odyssey and File & Serve actually are
Odyssey is the court case-management system built by Tyler Technologies that sits behind many state and county courts. What you log into is usually one of two companion pieces: the public access portal, where you search cases and open documents, and the eFiling side (branded eFileGA, eFileTexas, eFileCA, and so on), where filings are submitted and served. File & Serve is Tyler's electronic filing-and-service platform used alongside Odyssey in many jurisdictions.
Whichever piece you're in, Send to Case treats it like any other web page: if you can open a document link, you can right-click and send it to a matter. The steps are the same ones covered in the general court documents to Clio guide — Odyssey just adds its own portal quirks.
On the filing side, note that in some of these states Clio can file for you directly. Clio File — Clio Manage's native e-filing and e-service — is available in Texas, California (except San Francisco), and Georgia, and once a document is accepted and stamped by the court it automatically populates in the matter's Documents subtab, so the court-stamped copy saves itself. More broadly, the InfoTrack File & Serve integration in Clio's App Directory e-files and serves from a Clio matter, with file-stamped copies, status, and expenses all syncing back to the matter automatically. Send to Case is the complement to those: it's built for the documents you retrieve from an Odyssey or File & Serve portal — orders, opposing filings, notices — rather than the ones you file, capturing each into the right matter with a right-click. Anonymous visitors can often see case information, but documents are frequently available only to registered users — and some filings only to counsel of record. Access rules are set per court and vary widely.

You can even set default folders per Clio matter, so filings from different jurisdictions automatically go to the right folder within each matter. This is especially useful when you're working across multiple counties within a single state that each run their own Odyssey instance.

Do documents go through your servers?
+No, documents upload directly from your browser to Clio's servers. Send to Case never sees, stores, or has access to your documents or file contents. Your client data stays private.
What if the filing opens in a viewer with no download link?
+Some Odyssey and re:Search portals show filings inside an in-browser PDF viewer instead of as a plain download link. You can still capture these: right-click the link that opens the viewer, or download the file through the portal's normal save option and use the manual-download capture flow to send it to your matter. A small subset of viewer-only portals will need that download-then-capture step rather than a single right-click.
Can I grab several filings from one case at once?
+Yes. A case record or register of actions often lists many filings, and Send to Case can scan the page for downloadable documents so you select several and send them to the same matter and folder in one pass, rather than right-clicking each one individually.
