Why Send to Case works with any court portal
Send to Case is not built for any specific court system. It works at the browser level, intercepting document downloads and routing them to Clio instead. This means it works with any website that serves downloadable files — state court portals, county clerk websites, and eFiling systems nationwide.
When you right-click a document link in any court portal, Send to Case fetches the file from the court's server and uploads it to Clio's API. The document travels from the court server, through your browser, and directly into Clio. It never passes through our servers, and we never see its contents.
This approach means you don't need to wait for us to add support for a specific portal. If a new court system launches tomorrow, Send to Case will work with it on day one.

Does Send to Case work with my state's court portal?
+Send to Case works with any court portal that has downloadable document links. It is not specific to any one court system — if you can click a link to download a document, you can right-click it and send it to Clio instead. This includes NYSCEF, eFileTexas, MyFLCourtAccess, Odyssey portals, and all others.
What about courts that require login?
+Send to Case works as long as you can access the document in your browser. Log into the court portal as you normally would, then right-click any document link and select "Send to Clio." The extension uses your existing browser session to access the file.
Can I upload from county court portals?
+Yes, Send to Case works with county, municipal, and state-level court portals alike. Whether you are accessing documents from a county clerk's website or a statewide eFiling system, the right-click workflow is the same.
What if my state uses Tyler Odyssey?
+Send to Case works with all Odyssey-powered court portals. For more details about Odyssey compatibility, including specific state information, visit our dedicated Odyssey & File & Serve page.
Can Clio itself file to the court, or only hold what I upload?
+In the states Clio File covers — Texas, California (except San Francisco), and Georgia — Clio can e-file directly to the court, and once a document is accepted and stamped it will automatically populate in the matter's Documents subtab. More broadly, InfoTrack's File & Serve integration in Clio's App Directory lets you e-file and e-serve from a Clio matter, with file-stamped copies, status, and expenses syncing back to the matter automatically. Send to Case is complementary to both: it handles the documents you retrieve or receive from a portal — opposing filings, court-stamped copies you download, exhibits from a case page — and sends them into the matter with a right-click. Filing availability and coverage change, so confirm current details in Clio's help center.
Can I grab several documents from one case at once?
+Yes. A single case often has a complaint, exhibits, orders, and more spread across the page. Send to Case can scan a results or case page for downloadable documents so you select several and send them to the same matter and folder in one pass, instead of right-clicking each link separately.
Which file types are supported?
+Send to Case supports any file type that Clio accepts, including PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, images, and more. Files up to 5GB in size are supported. If a court portal serves the document as a downloadable file, Send to Case can upload it to Clio.
